Scientific lecture

On Wednesday, February 11, 2026, the University of Health Sciences “Mujahid Dr. Youcef El Khatib,” in collaboration with the Embassy of the United States in Algiers, hosted a scientific lecture delivered by Mr. Mighty Fine, a specialist in social epidemiology and Associate Executive Director of the American Public Health Association (APHA). The event took place in the university’s main lecture hall and was attended by faculty members and students.

​The lecture addressed the social determinants of health in the United States, alongside an overview of the APHA’s missions and its role in health promotion, disease prevention, and the support of public health policies.

​The proceedings were held in the presence of the Rector of the University, Professor Gharnaout Merzak, accompanied by vice-rectors, deans of faculties, administrative staff, professors, and students.

​This initiative falls within the framework of the university’s strategy to engage with the international academic community and to strengthen scientific and educational cooperation.
