Following their return to Algeria after successfully completing a one-month training program at FAHZU University Hospital, affiliated with Zhejiang University in China, participants of the second cohort of the University of Health Sciences’ international cooperation program have concluded a highly valuable scientific and professional experience.
During the program, participants in cardiology enhanced their expertise in advanced cardiovascular imaging, structural heart diseases, and the multidisciplinary management of complex cardiac cases. In nephrology, they gained deeper insights into renal replacement therapies, the management of chronic kidney disease, and the organization of kidney transplantation programs.
The training also provided exposure to the renowned expertise of the general surgery department, particularly in liver transplantation, from donor and recipient selection to surgical management and postoperative follow-up. In addition, participants explored the remarkable capabilities of the hemobiology and molecular biology laboratories, with a focus on genetic diagnostics, next-generation sequencing (NGS), precision medicine, and the integration of molecular data into clinical practice.
Beyond the scientific knowledge acquired, this experience offered a firsthand perspective on medical excellence, technological innovation, and the value of multidisciplinary collaboration in modern healthcare. It also contributed to strengthening professional ties and fostering future cooperation between partner institutions.
We wish all participants continued success as they apply the knowledge and experience gained to further enhance healthcare practice and patient care in Algeria
