Following the announcement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the entry into force for Algeria of the Hague Convention of 5 October 1961 Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents (the Apostille Convention) coming into force for Algeria with effect from 9 July 2026, public documents issued by a number of ministerial departments and intended for use in States Parties to the Convention are no longer subject to traditional consular legalisation procedures.

This measure applies to documents issued by higher education institutions under the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in particular:

• Transcripts.

• Graduation certificates.

• Academic certificates for the current academic year.

Applications for an Apostille certificate may be submitted via the dedicated national platform from 9 July 2026, via the following link:

Apostille stamps (Vignettes d’apostille) may also be obtained from:

– Tax offices.

– Post offices in Algeria.

Important note:

A separate application must be submitted for each document. Consequently, each transcript, graduation certificate or school certificate requires its own Apostille application, with one Apostille form to be obtained for each document.
