On 21 and 22 September 2026, the Dr Youssef Al-Khatib University of Health Sciences hosted a working session and discussion as part of the preparations for the launch of the National Programme for Scientific Research (PNR5) in the field of public health, organised by the Directorate-General for Scientific Research and Technological Development.
The session took place within the framework of the inter-sectoral committee on health and life sciences, in coordination with a select group of experts and clinical professors.
During this session, the research and development issues proposed by economic and social partners from various sectors were examined, discussed and selected, with the aim of identifying research priorities in the field of public health that meet national needs and contribute to addressing the challenges at hand.
This initiative forms part of efforts to strengthen coordination between the various stakeholders in the scientific research system and to link research and innovation to national health needs.
