In line with the strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in accordance with the directives of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and as part of the on-site monitoring of ongoing preparations for the 2026–2027 academic year, and on the instructions of the Director of the University of Health Sciences, Dr Youssef Al-Khatib, Professor Gharnaout Marzak, on the evening of Saturday 12 September 2026, the Deputy Director of the University in charge of Pedagogy, Professor Laatafi Rachid, carried out an inspection visit to the Directorate of University Services for Central Algiers, which included:
🔹 Talib Abd al-Rahman 1 Men’s Hall of Residence – Ben Aknoun.
🔹 The Ben Aknoun University Hall of Residence for female students.
The aim of the visit was to assess, on the ground, the readiness of the halls of residence and their various facilities, and to inspect the conditions under which students are received and accommodated, as well as the standard of services provided to them, thereby ensuring a university environment conducive to stability and academic achievement.
Professor Laatifi Rachid also held a meeting with the resident students, during which he listened to their concerns and feedback, emphasising the importance of addressing these and following them up in coordination with the relevant authorities.
He also met with the administrative staff of the halls of residence, during which the progress of the preparation and set-up operations was reviewed; emphasis was placed on continuing the work, completing the fittings and improving the various facilities, in preparation for welcoming students in the best possible conditions.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor noted the dedication of the halls of residence administrative staff and their involvement in the ongoing preparations, as well as their commitment to ensuring that the various facilities are ready and that the best possible conditions are in place to welcome students.
This visit forms part of the on-site monitoring and thorough preparations for the start of the academic year, and reflects the commitment of the University of Health Sciences, named after the Mujahid Dr Youssef Al-Khatib, to strengthening coordination with the services sector.
